Wanted: Italy Info

If you know any Italian phrases, words, or places “you’ve got to visit” in Italy, please send them my way!

Why? you may ask.

We’ll Lord-willing Bret and I will be going to Italy some time in the next year as a sweet gift from our church family. We celebrated 5 years of ministry at FBC-SJ yesterday and were given a week in Rome, Italy! What a blessing that will be and what a blessing our church has been and is to us!

So, if you have anything helpful to share about Italy or the Italian language, please pass it on!

From my villa to yours~

  1. My mother was born in the southern “toe” of Italy, and we went to Rome, Venice, Firenze, and other places about 7 years ago.

    Some advice for Rome:
–If the phone rings, answer “Pronto!”
    –“Come se dice _______ ?” = “How do you say ____ ?”
    pronounced “Comay say deechay”
–Be careful driving, if you decide to drive anywhere. Seven years ago, everyone drove very quickly and there are many mopeds/motorcycles.
–Carry some spare change around, as some restrooms require money to be used.
–Restrooms are called “Washing Closets” I believe. If you see a sign for “WC”, it’s a toilet and hopefully a sink!

Anything else I can think of, I’ll post. Thank you for this opportunity to speak to you and your husband. I’ve downloaded many of his delivered sermons. Our Father has blessed Pastor Bret with great abilities at reaching people.

  2. The best place to visit is Toskana, I was there recently, and have some nice photos for you : http://1000petals.wordpress.com/2008/04/04/italian-secret-slideshow/
