The God of My Villa

Sheep"Shout joyfullly to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness;Come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheet of His pasture." Psalm 100

The God of My Villa is the Lord God, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ

What a great God I have! Do you know Him? I didn't for many years. My mother had told me of Him. There were teachers and family members that had taught me stories from the Bible about Him. But it was not until I went to Israel (yes, Israel!) that the blinders were taken off my eyes and my mind and my heart and I began to know God. The people that I had travelled to Israel with knew God and knew how to explain God to me and others through the Bible. I now know too that it was God who was drawing me to Himself during those days! I did not choose Him but He chose me!

Chosen In Christ and Through Christ

"Remember that you were at that time separate from Chrst, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ"~Ephesians 2:12-13.

God indeed chose me and drew me to Himself but He did it not on my own merit or good deeds (there was nothing good in me that He should look to me "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"~Romans 3:34).

Instead I was "brought near by the blood of Christ." I was brought near to God and allowed to come into His holy fellowship by Christ, specifically by His blood. Hebrews 9: 22 says "without shedding of blood there is not forgiveness." But I'm desperate for God's forgiveness because my life has fallen short of His glory–I've never been able to meet His perfect standards for His creatures and I've committed treason by not submitting my life and my love to the Creator of all things. High treason was my life's crime.

Dead But Now Alive By Faith in Christ

"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me" –Galatians 2:20

I was marked out for God's punishment because of my treason. But now I've died to the old life of treachery and rebellion against God. I've been crucified with Christ because I believe and trust in His own death on my behalf on the cross 2000 years ago. I'm no longer living my life but Christ is living through me. What a change that has taken place!

I continue each day to live by faith in God's Son, Jesus Christ. He keeps me and continues to accomplish His will in my life every day because of His grace: His good gifts of mercy and help and wisdom and guidance and protection. None of these things I deserve but God is good in His nature and character and can only do what is good, right, and holy. Therefore, I am the beneficiary of all the Lord's goodness and I'm thankful to be chosen to be one of His.

Are you one of His?

Friend, are you one of His own too? I pray that you would be. Don't waste your life taking charge, denying the God and Father of us all, and refusing to trust and believe in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross on your behalf if you would believe Him. He will not turn you away if you seek Him with all your heart. In fact, He is the One seeking you out. He said, "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." — Luke 19:10.
